Hello Emma,
The best thing is that you are researching anxiety online and you have been actively seeking treatment. That is the first attitude we need when suffering from an anxiety disorder.
The thing that has helped me through the last 5 years is a clear understanding that the garbage (fear) thoughts that roll through my head are simply negative fantasies that I have chosen to think are “real”. It’s not. None of our thoughts are “real” – just our little twigs of perception we have learned to believe are true.
When you finally understand that we need not react to every little thing, and that the ideas and beliefs we have adopted over the years since childhood are false, we can begin to look at each day a as a new and exciting time. The present moment is truly miraculous and we can feel it once we learn to take or endless “thoughts” with a grain of salt.
Watch these Eckart Tolle videos to learn more of what I am talking about here. Some people think Eckart is “nuts” but the truth is we people who react to all form and “happenings” with our little brains – making all their little judgments about everything we experience – are the ones who are out of touch with our true essence. As Eckart Tolle says, “You ARE that deep undercurrent of stillness”.
Life can become magical and completely stress free.
