My 2nd Day, it feels good, but the craving is very strong.. I was a 2 pack smoker, every thing from walking to talking and eating and sipping Tea, Coffee, Cold Drinks all the time I had a cigi in my hand.. Now I have started to visualize my self in the same scenes without the Cigis and just done 2 days... I am sure I will quit..and love living smoke free.

I almost never hear smokers mention online support places to quit smoking. Places like stop smoking forums can help you to stop without other methods whatsoever. Get a desire to smoke, just create a post and receive fast support. It helps! Just go for it, you'll be surprised the amount of people will attempt to help you stop smoking.

I am a week clean today. And I agree with you, this is the hardest, easliest thing I've done. I am 57 years old and have been smoking for at least 40 years. I started last week reducing the number of cigarettes I smoked everyday. I even with as far as buying the cheapest brand they had for sale. I changed from buying a carton to one pack of cigarettes at a time. That really got on my nervous, I was always buying, checking or looking for my one pack of cigarettes.

Before I stopped smoking, I ordered and received a 20 pieces sample of Nicorette gum
for free. But decided after reading the side effects (nightmares for one) I would go "cold turkey". I must admit the first 3 days were pretty hard. I cried, laughed and said some really bad words. Actually, I had set my stop date as Sunday, August 1st, but after practicing handling the cravings (the biggest one is at the breakfast table with my first cup of coffee in the morning) I smoked my last cigarette Tuesday, July 27th. I am surprised that the cravings do not last long. But I have changed some of my habits (I do not drink my coffee at the breakfast table). And I gained 3 pounds in 1 week. I am always chewing or eating on something. Not to mention all the favors I can now taste in foods. The chest pains and shortness of breath have already disappeared. But I only sleep 3 to 4 hours at night. But since I am currently unemployed my sleeping doesn't matter. I just go to bed when I get tried.

Now I don't know why I didn't stop smoking years ago. But I can only hope I never touch another cigarette again. (lol)
